Mini Tennis
Tennis starts at whatever age you wish. Although we
do not (yet) run classes for anyone younger than 3 years old, we do
recommend starting with balloons and small toy rackets at home.
We start our coaching at the grass roots with Mini Tennis. This is a
graduated learning method for juniors starting around the age of 3 or
4 through to 9 or 10 years old. Introduced by the Lawn Tennis Association
in 2001 this has grown to be a world wide accepted method of beginning
tennis. More information can be seen at www.minitennis.com.
As our juniors make progress they move through
the system at a speed that suits their ability. Some are fast tracked
because of their commitment and ability but the majority go on to play
good club or county tennis and compete to a healthy level. If a player
has reached a level where their commitment and talent is recognised
as being greater than normal it is probably time to start considering Performance
Tennis.

page.
